How to arrive
How to arrive
UNESCO declared this area a World Heritage Site, so the traffic is restricted. If you come by car it is best to leave it in a parkinging but we can give you directions if you want to come by car to the hotel to leave the luggage. However you should know that it is very difficult to find a place to park the car permanently around the hotel.
We have an agreement with two public parkings: Parking Puerta Real and Parking Triunfo. They both have a special rate for our guests (19, 50 Euros/24 hours). You pay for the parking in the hotel.
From these two car parks you can take a taxi to the Hotel and if you bring us the taxi bill we will deduct it from your room bill. Every time you need the car we will give you a voucher for the car park at the Hotel. Only the taxi that brings you from the car park to the hotel can be deducted.
To go to the Puerta Real Parking:
- Take the main road in Granada “Circunvalacion” (Road A-44).
- Take exit number 131 (Armilla exit), direction to Congress Palace (Palacio de Congresos) on Armilla’s Road.
- Go straight on Paseo del Violon Street.
- Cross the Puente Blanco (White Bridge) and you will be in Acera del Darro Street. You will see to the right a big shopping centre called EL CORTE INGLES. Just beyond you will see the right the parking PUERTA REAL. (For further directions you can follow signs to the Carmen Hotel. This Hotel is front of our concerted parking).
If this parking is full you can wait until a space is free or call the Hotel and we will give you directions to the other parking.
Here you have an interactive map to arrive to the parking:
Guests may drive to the hotel, but only through some streets allowed by the Police. Each hotel has a way allowed for their guests and our area allowed is “Hoteles Carrera del Darro – Plaza Nueva – Albaicín”. The traffic is complicated because they are all very narrow and cobbled streets.
The hotel is in one of them but you can not come with the car to the door. It is very important that you do not go through forbidden streets even if the sign says: “Only access to Hotels” (“Excepto acceso a Hoteles”), because these streets have cameras that will take your license plate and you will receive a fine. We cannot do anything if you receive a fine.
Follow these directions:
- Take the main road in Granada “Circunvalacion” (Road A-44).
- Take the exit number 131 (Armilla exit), direction to Congress Palace on Armilla’s Road.
- Go straight on Paseo del Violon Street.
- Cross the Green Bridge (on the left) and you will reach the Paseo de la Bomba. Start going down Paseo de la Bomba and Paseo del Salón. This is a long avenue where you will leave a pedestrian park on your left.
- Turn right at the corner between Paseo del Salón and Carrera del Genil (you are at the back door of the Corte Inglés).
- Continue to Plaza del Campillo and turn right into Plaza de Mariana Pineda.
- At the end of the street you will reach a square (Plaza de Mariana Pineda) where you will see a sign on the left hand side indicating “Hoteles Plaza Nueva – Carrera del Darro”, follow the sign and continue along this street (C/ San Matías).
- At the end of this street, turn left again, following the sign “Hoteles Plaza Nueva – Carrera del Darro” and you will come to a traffic light (on the left you will see the Plaza Isabel la Católica with a fountain of the Queen and Colón). Turn right at the traffic lights.
- Go straight on, at the end of the Plaza (Plaza Nueva) (you will see the Church of Santa Ana in front of you), leave the car at the beginning of the first street on the left (C/ Pisas). On foot, continue along Calle Pisas and take the street on the right, continue along Placeta Benalúa and you will see us at the end of C/Benalúa.
You can find an interactive map and further directions to get directly to the Hotel at:
Directions to the hotel by taxi
– Taxis have a special permit to bring you from anywhere in the city so it is important to ask the driver for the ticket or receipt. Then let us know and leave the receipt at the reception. It is important because we must inform the local police about the access of the taxis.
– Taxis are only deducted to clients who have left the car in one of the car parks with which we have agreements.
